Planning for Media Induction Task.

This work goes step by step on how my work developed and changed through the two week period of figuring out how the final product will look.

Product Type: Aftershave

Brand Name: Jaque’s

Product Name: Altitude

Slogan: You can’t soar without it/High Flying Has Never Been So Simple

1:

First draft of my advertisement. I didn't have my own pictures so this was a draft version with using pictures from Google. I am aware that I couldn't give this in for a mark but I wanted to see what it would look like if I had made it with my own pictures. The name 'Altitude' was definite but the slogan wasn't certain so I am still playing around with slogans. For 'Jacque's' I used the font: Pristina, and for the aftershave title and the brand name I used the font: Arial. In this try, I didn't apply any effects to the sky in the background but I am thinking that it needs to be a brighter, more vibrant colour. I have added a lighting effect behind the bottle that represents the sun but you can also tell that I have used layers. I editted the image to look like the sun was actually shining through the bottle so it looked like it was actually in the sky in front of the sun.

2:
This time I used a darker effect on the bottle so that it stood out from the sky and the sun shining through. The writing on the bottle is also more readable now. This time I used contrast and colour overlay effects on the sky background so that it looks brighter. I think this gives more positive connotations of the aftershave being good since it has kind of the same colour as the bottle or a bright colour like the bottle instead of it being a weak blue with grey clouds.

On this one and #4, I used a different font, this time opting for the font: Trajan Pro but putting the aftershave name and brand name higher than the next one. I thought that #4 worked best and it gave me more room to mess around with the plaacement of the aftershave bottle as well.

This is the same as #5 but with the test bottle that I have been using. I think when I have an actual bottle to use, I can get on with editting the bottle in any ways that I need to and decided on definite placing and colouring, placement, size and intensity of the glow behind the bottle. I also need to decide whether I am going to be editting the bottle so that it looks like the sun is shining through or not.

6:

I finally chose my own bottle to use for this advertisement. I was having trouble deciding which bottle would be best to use for this advertisement but I decided on this one since I wouldn't have to edit the colours as it was already blue. All I would have to do is change contrasts and colour levels, etc.

7:

Final product. I ended up editting the bottle so that none of the glare from the flash was on there and I editted the colours so that they looked deeper and I added the brand and aftershave title. The glow behind the bottle is now thicker, a creamier colour and larger.
The image that I used is here:
